TRIP REPORTS

These are journals of my various travels in Africa.  They have been divided into two sections. In all cases, the report (once I have finished them all !) will start off with a contents page, directing you to the information collected on the trip - including maps, bird lists, photographs, routes and any other information I gained during the trip.  To return to the contents page, simply click on the trip again in the left-hand frame.

The first section contains BASIC REPORTS where I did not keep a detailed journal at the time. For these trips I have recreated brief journals of the travels (I have kept records of the actual route taken.  However, no detailed lists of birds seen were kept, or any GPS co-ordinates or tracks of routes.  Those provided are based on best estimates - so be very careful about using them for anything else other than general planning of your own trip.

The second section contains DETAILED REPORTS where I kept fuller records on my travels, especially detailed lists of the birds seen. I kept GPS records of the key places visited (mainly campsites for future travels), but only downloaded a GPS track for the final trip (in 2003/2004). The information provided here is a bit more reliable, though some overnight stops were not recorded on the GPS, and so estimates have been included.
