7OLIVC: 12°02'07.60"N 39°02'50.30"E = Ethiopia - Lalibela - Seven Olives Hotel has a campsite but not accessible to vehicles so had to use the car-park - A2 C4 B1 D1 F3 L1 S2 T1 W1
AWASH: 8°50'51.70"N 40°00'16.99"e = Ethiopia - Awash NP - I have always used the Hippo Campsite (5th along track) - absolutely no facilities at all - C3 BX DX FX LX SX TX WX
GHIONC: 11°35'53.59"N 37°23'10.30"E = Ethiopia - Bahir Dar - Ghion Hotel has campsite but very basic - it seems unlikely that one can now camp at the Tana Hotel which would be much nicer - A3 C4 B1 D1 F3 L1 S2 T1 W2
GOHA: 12°37'15.22"N 37°28'05.56"E = Ethiopia - Gonder - Goha Hotel allows camping in the driveway area - it has a fabulous setting on the hill above Gonder - A2 C3 B1 D1 F3 L1 S1 T1 W2

WONDOC: 7°05'00.89"N 38°38'14.65"E = Ethiopia - Wondo Genet - Wabe Shebelle Hotel allows camping with a pleasant Hot Springs nearby - A2 C3 B1 D1 F3 L1 S1 T1 W2

BALE: 6°53'21.06"N 39°54'34.14"E = Ethiopia - Sanetti Plateau - at 4200 m just next to road by lakes - too cold for camping!
BEDELE: 8°21'34.01"N 36°13'43.95"E = Ethiopia - Bedele - small clearing just next to road - pleasant peaceful site
GAMBEL: 8°09'34.22"N 34°35'08.12"E = Ethiopia - Gambela - spot off road in woodland - whole area insect infested and very hot - probably better to camp by hotel
JEMMU: 9°54'47.30"N 38°55'30.00"E = Ethiopia - Jemmu Valley - nice spot just to north of bridge
L_HEYK: 11°20'17.08"N 39°41'27.82"E = Ethiopia - Lake Heyk - Camped beside road leading to Monastery just above lake - no disturbance
LOGIA: 11°39'17.01"N 40°57'23.23"E = Ethiopia - Logia - Total Petrol Station with long-drop toilets and cold beers! - a truck stop so camping no problem
NECHI2: 5°57' 59.92"N 37°39'22.60"E = Ethiopia - Nechisar - I camped on the plains having spent the evening chasing nightjars and did not want to drive back along bad road in dark to main campsite
NEGELE: 5°17'52.67"N 39°39'21.19"E = Ethiopia - Negele - Just next to site for Sidamo Lark - given regular security problems in area the local farmers allowed me to camp next to their huts
R_ANGE: 9°41'45.59"N 36°38'11.60"E = Ethiopia - River Anger - A small level area beside the road with fabulous views of valley
ROBE: 7°10'22.16"N 39°58'34.67"E = Ethiopia - Robe - A badly selected site - looks great but is 50 metres form bridge guarded by army - they don't like people camping there

DIREDA: 9°35'21.66"N 41°51'35.65"E = Ethiopia - Dire Dawa - Ras Hotel is government owned but run down and the food was poor - A3 F3
GEDERA: 9°01'27.20"N 38°46'34.87"E = Ethiopia - Addis Ababa - Gedera #3 Hotel is of reasonable standard and quite cheap - although it has poor food there is an excellent restaurant about 200 metres away - A2 F3
GHIBE: 7°40'29.97"N 36°50'06.60"E = Ethiopia - Jimma - Ghibe Hotel is a basic standard hotel with nothing comparable for a hundred kilometres on any side - A3 F2
GHIONH: 11°35'53.50"N 37°23'10.30"E = Ethiopia - Bahir Dar - Ghion Hotel is not as nice as the Tana Hotel nearby but allows camping - A3 C4 F3
GOHA: 12°37'15.22"N 37°28'05.56"E = Ethiopia - Gonder - Goha Hotel is probably the best government run hotel in Ethiopia but the food is pretty dull - it has a fabulous setting on the hill above Gonder - A2 C3 F3
GORGOR: 12°14'18.88"N 37°18'04.94"E = Ethiopia - Gorgora - Gorgora Hotel is located in gardens on the northern shore of Lake Tana - A2 F3
HELEN: 9°41'01.41"N 39°32'28.71"E = Ethiopia - Debre Birhan - Helen Hotel is not good so if practical it would be better to return to Addis Ababa and stay there - A4 F3
HILTON: 9°01'08.74"N 38°45'52.03"E = Ethiopia - Addis Ababa - Hilton Hotel has competition from more expensive hotels but it still ranks as having excellent service and relatively reasonable prices - A1 F1 $1
L_AWAS: 7°02'55.63"N 38°27'34.11"E = Ethiopia - Lake Awasa - Wabe Shebelle #2 Hotel - probably the worst run hotel I encountered in Ethiopia - better to stay at Lake Langano - A3 C4 FX
L_LANG: 7°32'55.42"N 38°41'03.09"E = Ethiopia - Lake Langano - Bekele Mola Hotel may not be the best hotel at Lake Langano (there is another government run one there) but it has the best campsite - A3 C1 F3
MOYALE: 3°32'40.98"N 39°02'55.80"E = Ethiopia - Moyale - Bekele Mola Hotel is the best accommodation in Moyale on either the Ethiopian or Kenyan side - accepts Kenya Shillings - A3 FX
NAZRET: 8°31'57.84"N 39°17'37.71"E = Ethiopia - Nazret - Bekele Mola Hotel is pretty basic but adequate - don't expect hot water - A3 FX
TANA: 11°36'11.38"N 37°23'40.49"E = Ethiopia - Bahir Dar - Tana Hotel is the best hotel in Bahir Dar but I only camped there while it was still government run - A2 C4 F2
WANZA: 9°00'21.42"N 38°46'08.03"E = Ethiopia - Addis Ababa - Wanza Hotel is a cheap but reasonable basic hotel - A3 FX
WONDO: 7°05'00.89"N 38°38'14.65"E = Ethiopia - Wondo Genet - Wabe Shebelle Hotel is OK by Ethiopian standards with a pleasant Hot Springs nearby - A2 C3 F3
